Run, Walk and Come Together for Cancer Relief Gibraltar

Trainers at the ready. Gibraltar, we’ve got a 5K to run.

On Saturday 10 October, we’re bringing the community together for the Masbro + Cancer Relief Community 5K Fun Run, and everyone’s invited.

Starting and finishing at Wellington Boxing Club at Wellington Front, this is a morning for runners, walkers, families and anyone who fancies getting involved for a great local cause. Run it, jog it or take it at your own pace. Every entry will help us raise funds for Cancer Relief Gibraltar.

A 5K for Cancer Relief Gibraltar

Cancer Relief Gibraltar is one of Masbro’s main charities for the year ahead, with our team raising funds and awareness for the charity throughout the year.

Cancer Relief provides support to people affected by cancer in Gibraltar, as well as their families. It’s a charity that means a great deal to many people locally, which is why we wanted to create an event that the wider community could get involved with too.

All proceeds from the Community 5K will go to charity, so every registration will contribute to the fundraising effort.

More Than a Race

This is very much a fun run. There’s no need to be chasing a personal best or worrying about your pace.

We want to see experienced runners lining up alongside occasional joggers, families, friends and people who simply fancy a Saturday morning walk for a good cause.

Children under 10 can take part for free, making it an easy event for families to get involved with too. And if you’re among the first 100 people to register, you’ll receive a free event running T-shirt.

Once the 5K is done, we’ll have coffee and breakfast snacks waiting back at Wellington Boxing Club, giving everyone a chance to catch up and enjoy the morning together.

Part of a Year of Community Fundraising

The Community 5K builds on a year of fundraising and awareness activities involving our team.

Our team members have been getting involved in charity and awareness initiatives throughout the year, including in-office fundraisers and awareness days. We’ve also had plenty of opportunities to come together through activities such as our Masbro Bake Off and a charity bowling event organised by the Gibraltar Insurance Institute.

The October run takes that community spirit outside the office and gives everyone the chance to join us in supporting Cancer Relief Gibraltar.

Registration for the Masbro + Cancer Relief Community 5K Fun Run is available through Buytickets.gi, with entry costing £10 for anyone aged 10 and over and under 10s joining us for free.

So round up the family, message your running group or convince a few friends to come along.
